Operations Management Systems

Engagements aimed at improving operational management systems have two distinct phases: system redesign and implementation. During the first phase, design teams comprised of salaried and hourly staff work with Pöyry to develop more effective methods of managing their area of the operation. Once the design team has completed its work, it's on to phase two, implementation.

Pöyry works side by side with operators and supervisors to ensure new tools and practices are first understood and then effectively used to drive improved results.At the end of implementation, employees will: understand the specific performance indicators they are accountable for, track their own performance, and consistently develop action plans to address variances. The focus throughout implementation is two-fold: show results quickly and ensure the results are sustainable.

Key deliverables include:

  • Improved operations management systems, practices and disciplines ;
  • Enhanced management skill and organizational depth ;
  • Increased profitability; and,
  • An entrenched culture of performance management.
